Beginners Sewing Skills

(Only for women between 18 and 20 years old (R300 Commitment fee payable) (non refundable)

Target Audience

This is a program for young women who has never worked on a sewing machine before, has no knowledge of how to operate an industrial sewing machine. This course aims to support women interested in launching a clothing business or pursuing careers in clothing production. 70% of the course content covered consists of theory and 30% practical.

These are aligned with a QCTO sewing program. It runs over a 3-month period, once a month. After the three-month period has ended. Chosen beneficiaries will participate in a workplace learning readiness program for an extra three months. During this time, you will receive a travel allowance and work from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Cut and construct sewn garments and household products

Present finished sewn garments and household articles/products to customers

📘 1. Setting up and prepare plain lock stitch machine and 4 needle overlocker
📘 2. Troubleshoot Safety and maintenance
📘 3. Garment construction. Making sample bags, vests and different products
